	As I looked through the mid-month ezine and saw the article about the Green Goddess week, and then read the article "Why is Susun angry?" it brought back so many memories of my apprenticeship in 1995 (how did the years go by so quickly?). I remember the day that Susun was loudly correcting me for something (can't even remember what) and when she had finished I said in a very quiet voice "I don't hear you when you yell" I think she yelled at me only one more time during my stay! I wish I had paid attention to earlier information about the Green Goddess week....I didn't know past apprentices could attend. Needless to say I will pay more attention to the dates for 2010 and do my best to be there. This is my 5th summer in my current home and under much love, attention and care, and the loving energies of many friends and students, this summer the yard is more alive than ever and there are fairies in a quiet corner for the first time. 	In my teens I inadvertently cut off the tips of two fingers while working in a cafe kitchen.. one of the other cooks- an herbalist and wise women extraordinaire ran out to the garden and cut off a leaf of comfrey. She picked up my finger tips from the cutting board.. put them back on my fingers, put the leaves over them and wrapped them up. 48 hours later they were seamlessly healed and to this day a tiny scar, and slight rotation of the finger prints are all that remind me of that event... thank you for all you bring to this gentle life, In peace, with joy, Sky-----

	Hi Susun... I owe you a letter. lol I am the lady who planted her front yard in edible weeds. The neighbors hate me! They mow their dirt and I have this beautiful green carpet. lol not grass though. Even hubby has given up the idea of a lawn. You should be a fly on the wall. He's so proud of our green. I was betwixt and between as to which plant would be my green ally; nettle or dandelion. Low and behold neither grew back strongly this year - instead, sweet violet carpeted the yard! It's interspersed with beautiful plantain. So much for choosing. :) Now that the herbs and garden are in full bloom, the Herbal Course is coming right along. I love it. Just wanted you to know. The course is so good ~Amber (Morning Rain)

	Hi Susun, Last month I was in a 'health food' country store outside Green Bay, WI when I spied your book "New Menopausal Years The Wise Woman Way". I'd never heard of you or your writings before, but when I opened this book, my eyes flooded with tears. I've been perimenopausal for years with severe hot flashes and night sweats (and lots of the crazies!) and it wasn't until I read this book that I felt affirmed and strange as it sounds---loved. The grandmother crone mentor image is what I needed to lead me through this. Anyway, I've since sought out a local herbalist, perused your website, (am considering taking the class that's offered there) and have tried various ways from the book to sooth my body & mind. After working very hard for several years to complete Dr. Christopher's Herbalist program, I went to IHS looking for some spiritual nourishment, and wow did I find it! Susun's Biography Susun S. Weed has no official diplomas of any kind; she left high school in her junior year to pursue studies in mathematics and artificial intelligence at UCLA and she left college in her junior year to pursue life. Susun began studying herbal medicine in 1965 when she was living in Manhattan while pregnant with her daughter, Justine Adelaide Swede. She wrote her first book -- Wise Woman Herbal for the Childbearing Year (now in its 29th printing)-- in 1985 and published it as the first title of Ash Tree Publishing in 1986. It was followed by Healing Wise (1989), New Menopausal Years the Wise Woman Way (1992 and revised in 2002), and Breast Cancer? Breast Health! The Wise Woman Way (1996). In addition to her writing, Ms Weed trains apprentices, oversees the work of more than 300 correspondence course students, coordinates the activities of the Wise Woman Center, and is a High Priestess of Dianic Wicca, a member of the Sisterhood of the Shields, and a Peace Elder. Susun Weed is a contributor to the Routledge International Encyclopedia of Women's Studies, peer- reviewed journals, and popular magazines, including a regular column in Sagewoman. Her worldwide teaching schedule encompasses herbal medicine, ethnobotany, pharmacognosy, psychology of healing, ecoherbalism, nutrition, and women's health issues and her venues include medical schools, hospital wellness centers, breast cancer centers, midwifery schools, naturopathic colleges, and shamanic training centers, as well as many conferences. Susun appears on many television and radio shows, including National Public Radio and NBC News.
