I had the honor of speaking to you a few weeks ago when I ordered Juliette
de Bariacli Levy's books. I have read them and feel like I am seeing
something I must understand, but it is behind a glass window
that I can't move through. When I learn a language different from my
original language, I learn very quickly, when I am in the environment and
surrounded by experience in that new language. I learn very little from
books unless they are stories. I want to know everything and learn
everything I can from you.

Recently I read "Healing Wise" sent to me by a great Mohawk friend from
Akwesasne Mohawk Territory where I have worked for many years. There I
found great insight into quandaries I have been facing since diagnosed with
cancer.
I’m dealing with the multitude of caregivers from all three healing traditions -- including of course the wonderful cross-overs such as Bernie Siegel who is mentioned in the text. I recently spent a Medicine Walk day with Suzanne Brant at Tyendinaga, who talked to me further
about Susun Weed and various related connections. She has given me this

I love working with herbs, and I have incorporated them into my daily life... your immune soup is one of my favorites.. helping me through my journey with cancer.
It was 5 years this past April.... that day 5 years ago seeing your book and using it , has taken me on a path.... of whole health..
I recently opened a yoga studio and I continue to encourage others to look within themselves for what they need to do for themselves: diet, resting , toxic thoughts..... I continue to be in awe of this life .. I also love the way you talk about your herbs...and the energy that comes from plants....

Dear Susun;
It has taken me a while to find your website. And now that I have, I have
been a glutton in reading and devouring all the information there.
I do so appreciate your vast knowledge. I take heart in reaffirming my own
knowledge and beliefs (and suspicions, too) in the herbal treatments my
grandmother taught me.
I do get a lot of pooh-pooh over my unusual health ideas, but as I share my knowledge with others, they no longer marvel, but want more. Ah, the joys of gluttony!
I have every intention of attending your workshops. I'm not certain when
that will be, but soon come. How does that saying go? When the student is
ready, the teacher appears. Or is it when the teacher is ready, the student
appears. Whatever, I am all three - student, teacher and ready.

Biography
Susun
S. Weed has no official diplomas of any kind; she left high
school in her junior year to pursue studies in mathematics and
artificial intelligence at UCLA and she left college in her
junior year to pursue life.
Susun began studying herbal medicine in 1965
when she was living in Manhattan while pregnant with her daughter,
Justine Adelaide Swede.
She wrote her first book -- Wise Woman Herbal
for the Childbearing Year (now in its 29th printing)--
in 1985 and published it as the first title of Ash Tree Publishing
in 1986.
It was followed by Healing Wise (1989), New Menopausal Years the Wise Woman Way (1992 and revised
in 2002), and Breast Cancer? Breast Health! The Wise Woman
Way (1996).
In addition to her writing, Ms Weed trains apprentices,
oversees the work of more than 300 correspondence course students,
coordinates the activities of the Wise Woman Center, and is
a High Priestess of Dianic Wicca, a member of the Sisterhood
of the Shields, and a Peace Elder.
Susun Weed is a contributor to the Routledge
International Encyclopedia of Women's Studies, peer- reviewed
journals, and popular magazines, including a regular column
in Sagewoman.
Her worldwide teaching schedule encompasses
herbal medicine, ethnobotany, pharmacognosy, psychology of healing,
ecoherbalism, nutrition, and women's health issues and her venues
include medical schools, hospital wellness centers, breast cancer
centers, midwifery schools, naturopathic colleges, and shamanic
training centers, as well as many conferences.
Susun appears on many television and radio
shows, including National Public Radio and NBC News.
