Subject: Re: Wise Woman Herbal Ezine - September 2008

hi ,
i just needed to say your illustrations are extraordinary!

Hello,

I have been using your book for years for birth control and now I am finally on the other end of the spectrum - wanting to get pregnant! …

Thanks for your guidance and love,
JennTara

Hello,

…I have a friend who had breast-cancer and surgery of the breast last year. I sent her your book (from Germany), because I know it and think it is a great support for women.

greetings Susun,

In 1988, i attended a weekend goddess festival at the Open Center in New York City, where you were one of the featured speakers and i attended your class. On the table some of your books were displayed. This was three years prior to my son's birth and on that day, at that class, having a child was the last thing on my mind; however, spirit (or the entitity making his way towards me) moved me to purchase The Childbearing Year.

Three years later, i found myself pregnant and i turned to your book, which became my bible during my pregnancy. I did not want to birth in a hospital (this was unthinkable for me) so I chose a birthing center. Towards the end of my pregnancy, they suggested that i needed to raise my iron level or i would be forced to birth elsewhere. Again, i turned to your book and followed the directions for the yellow dock infusion. It raised my iron level tremendously, enabling me to birth at the birthing center. i went on to have a superb birth, completely peaceful, natural and unmedicated. your herbal knowledge saved me and my baby boy.

Susun, today, 17 years later, i am now a certified doula, lactation consultant, childbirth educator and intactivist living in the exquisite mountains of colorado. i use your book daily with my pregnant and nursing clients. i carry your book--the same book i used 17 years ago-- with me constantly (it is beyond dog-eared!) and share your knowledge joyously.

and as i now navigate the change of menopause, of course it is your menopausal book that has become my new bible.

thank you, thank you, thank you.
blessed be
Lo

Hi, Karen, …

I have learned a lot on how to eat and take care of my self using healthy natural methods and, in the end, I saved my womb. It’s great to know individuals like Susun Weed and Charoula who are willing to share their knowledge. You are all a blessing!

Blessings and peace,
Kris

Dear Susun,

i went through your site and find it really fascinating the way you are working with herbs…

Dear Susun,

I just read your article, Herbal Vinegars: Aromatic Delights From Your Garden, at Botanical.com.

I wanted to take a moment to thank you for not only teaching me, and sharing your knowledge--but also for inspiring me, and making it sound romantic and simple.

I have found myself enchanted by the garden the past several years, and have planted and tended several aromatic herbs. As I was pondering this evening, how to make valuable use of nature's bounty prior to the frost, I read your article and was engrossed.

Also, I will try to remember to plant yellow dock when we plant an apple tree in our yard.

Anyway, thank you for taking me for a walk through your garden. I appreciate it.

With Gratitude,
Malissa

I originally injured my pubic symphysis with the birth of my first child. It felt like my bones were splitting apart and I was sore for about 6 months afterwards.

With my second pregnancy 4 years later, I was running to catch a bus at 34 weeks and really tore the same spot. I could not move for two weeks at which time the pain was manageable. I was able to give birth vaginally at home in a birth pool.

With this my third pregnancy I was afraid because of my previous experiences and was being extra careful in a precautionary sort of way. By 18 weeks I was in terrible pain, could not walk or stand for more than 20 minutes at a time, had awful pain turning in bed, could not stand on one leg, had difficulty lifting my leg to get in the shower, etc.

The great herbalist Susun Weed recommended (about 3 weeks ago) Teasel tincture, which is for "internal tears that are hard to get at," and comfrey infusion (the other name for Comfrey is Knit Bone). Within 3 days of taking the Teasel (15 drops 3x a day) I started seeing improvement. Now I am 31 weeks and feeling almost no pain at all and can move more quickly and efficiently than I could at 18 weeks when the baby was so much smaller. I am amazed and thrilled that these remedies are working so incredibly well and thought that other women should know about them.

I have tried to get them to get Susun as a guest speaker because I have seen her many times and cannot begin to say what she makes a person feel like leaving her class. Her energy and love for her cause is so refreshing.

Again I thank her and all on her team,

Shari

Hi,

I just want to thank you for sharing your knowledge of herbs and health.
Your books helped strengthen me through two unassisted pregnancies and
births, (and postpartum times!), and also during a time when I had found a
lump under my arm.

Hi There

… I love all your methods and can't wait to start them. …

Thank You, and I Salute You
Connie

Dear Susun -

I have read many of your books. I have been on a fertility journey and have
been pulled in so many different directions. I started out following your
simple and wonderful advice, now I feel like I've gotten myself very
separated from what felt right and best for my body and spirit.

… You have been an inspiration for so long…it would be wonderful to meet you.

Sincerely,
Lauren

Dear Susun,

Thankyou for the wonderful information that you provide for the world.Whenever I have a problem with anything physical I consult your book first. I am never disappointed. I love using herbs and food as preventative medicine ! Why should we expect aging to be a slow slide into decrepitude and inactivity? Knowing about the abundant plants around us and using them to heal ourselves is very empowering--and FREE!

In great appreciation,
Sarah

Hi Susun,

I was at the Mid-America Herbal Symposium in June. I attended some of your classes and had a great time. I came home determined to stop taking DHEA (I’m 57) and to drink more infusions.

Thanks!
Laurie

Dear Susun Weed,

First, I would like to that you for your wonderful books. They contain a wealth of knowledge which I have found indispensable.…

Blessings,
Rea

Hi,

I'm 50 and started to go through the change this year in March. (probably before but didn't notice since I'm healing from chronic lyme disease) Susun's book has been a lifeline. No periods for 4 months. I'm drinking the nettle, oatstraw and red clover infusions and have no more hot flashes…

I really appreciate your wisdom. Thanks.
Diane

My Dear Susun;

I must say that your newsletters and videos that I have read and seen do touch the core of my heart. Thank you for the monthly newsletters.

I would like to send to all my pre and post menopausal friends your article that you wrote in Septembers newsletter about hormone replacement. Some of my friends and family member need to read it.

Thanking you in advance and green blessings,
Megan (aka) Dances with Light

I couldn't be happier to hear from you. I've been meaning to take one of Susun's courses for a while now and finally got up the gumption to do it. Can't wait to get the welcome package and get started too.

Thanks again,

Ariel

Hi Karen

I have been a longtime fan of Susun's work, have all her books, and am a member of the Reclaiming community. I also keep goats :), rescue llamas, weimeraners, cats and grow large permaculture gardens here at our micro-farm.

Jules

I really admire your work! I have used it with my pregnancies,
babies and now with my clients!

Dear Susun,

A friend sent me the article "Bird Vibes in Sedona" from your newsletter because I went to Sedona for the first time back in June. However, my eye settled in the "Anti-Cancer Lifestyle" article - and am I ever glad I read it!!!

I am a DES daughter. I'm 53, in perimenopause…

Thank you and bright blessings,
Suze

P.S. When I turned 40, and my then very aggressive female GYN suggested I have a hitherto benign lump removed surgically, a friend suggested that I get your book Breast Cancer, Breast Health. It changed my life. …

I've been impressed with your knowledge of herbs and was
excited to see your facebook link on your webpage!

… Thank you. Let her know I bought her book "Healthy Breasts" I just got it in and have already started to read it. I am so happy I did. I don't have breast cancer but it is one of my biggest fears. Hence I bought her book. It was the only book I have seen that captured me and gave me the strongest feeling to buy it.

Lorie

Happy Autumn, Susun!

I attended a day workshop of yours in CT
and hope to visit you for more one day soon...

Bright blessings!
