First Weekend April 5-6: Orientation/Initiation
Second Weekend April 12: Spring Tonics & April 13: Hands-on Herbal Medicine/Spring
Third Weekend May 10: Herbal Medicine Chest & May 11: Maiden-, Mother-, Crone-wort
Fourth Weekend June 14: Talking with Plants & June 15: Hands-on Herbal Med/Summer

Summer break

Fifth Weekend Sept 13: Hands-on Herbal Med/Fall & Sept 14: Chronic Problems
Sixth Weekend Oct 4: Winter Health & Oct. 5: Graduation day: presentations, awarding of certificates, optional green witch initiation.

 

Moonlodges are held on Friday evenings before workshop weekends. To graduate, you must attend one moonlodge. (You will stay with us that Friday night; you may eat with us too.)

 

 

Wise Woman Live-Out apprentices receive

Twelve days of classes with Susun including orientation weekend and graduation
Seven overnight stays, including seven dinners and seven breakfasts
A private tarot reading
Books, including herbals and a field guide
Materials to make your own medicines
Personal guidance in persuing your herbal path

As a Wise Woman Apprentice, you will learn the ins and outs of herbal medicine, plant identification and medicine making. You will nourish your healing abilities and leadership qualities, and gain valuable skills in working with a variety of people, plants, and problems.

The value of this apprenticeship is $1500. Total cost to you is $1100 paid in full or in monthly payments of $100, with at least $400 paid by April 1, 2008. Limited to 8 apprentices.

I have openings for three work-study live-out apprentices. The complete cost for a work-study student is $450 plus ninety hours of work, to be done during our weekends together, which will require you to arrive by 4pm on Fridays and stay until about 7pm Sunday.

All other Wise Woman apprentices arrive Sat morning by 10 am and leave Sun by 6pm, except on the weekend you attend a moonlodge, when you arrive by 4pm on Friday.

 

To apply: Please send a letter including the date, your name, address, phone number, email,occupation, and date of birth. List educational experiences, work positions, and passions relating to herbs and healing. Tell me what you hope to gain from your apprenticeship. Include a deposit of $200. You must do this even if you are applying for scholarship or work-exchange positions. *Lodging is a campsite, tipi, or primitive dorm. Occassionally, a room in the apprentices' house. If you wish to stay elsewhere, you may deduct $300 from your fee. If you eat elsewhere, deduct another $100.

* Extra night stay-overs, plus dinner and breakfast, are available for $75.
