Wise Woman Center -- Workshops
for Women
Join us this year for spirit healing and herbal
medicine workshops, intensives,
and apprenticeships
with Susun Weed and other Wise
Woman teachers. The Wise Woman Center in Woodstock NY
exists to re-weave the healing cloak of the Ancients. This
land, this sacred sanctuary for women is a place for the teachings
of the Wise Woman way. The Goddess lives here, as do goats,
fairies, green witches, and elders. Located between Woodstock
and Saugerties, 5 miles from the NYS Thruway, the Wise Woman
Center is easily accessible while private enough for nude
swimming. You'll receive a map and directions when you register.
Nourishing wild-food vegetarian meals are included with all
workshops.

By the River
By the river I walked along
On paths with natural planting.
By the river I heard a song,
As the wind was gently chanting.
In chorus were chirps and whistles
Of birds in the trees and thickets,
And from the bushes and bristles
The hum of insects and crickets.
From among the watery weeds
Ducks and geese clanged in formation.
By the river I found the seeds
Of creative inspiration.

Study with Susun Weed via Apprenticeship,
Workshop, or Correspondence Course
Susun Weed is here to wake us up to the earth's gifts, to entice
us to bend over and pick a weed and taste it. She loves to see
the enchanted glow that lights our faces when we realize all
we need for health and nourishment is right here for free, a
give-away of the earth's abundance. She reminds us that our
bodies are organic, changing entities, not machines, and that
we can trust ourselves to renew and transform. Teachers show
us how to learn, but Susun's dramatic and colorful yet easy
and friendly teaching style sets her apart. As a green witch,
she approaches healing medicine as a living manifestation of
the Goddess. She offers us a chance to get to know plants from
the inside out, slowly, with the same respect and patience we
show people who are revealing their personalities. When we open
to the mysteries of the plant world and flow from the heart,
when we honor the Earth and learn to heal with nourishment,
compassionate listening, and simple ceremonies, then we are
dancing in the Tao, spiraling through grief and joy, healing
the Wise Woman Way.
