A strong public relations plan that focuses upon reaching
the ear or eye of the customer is an essential aspect of creating
a successful and rewarding metaphysical career. Like all other
types of work, a metaphysical worker must professionally plan
a means to build and remain in business. Promoting for yourself,
regardless of the fact that you are the new or seasoned metaphysical
worker, is partly image selling and partly service branding.
For the new healer, counselor or energy worker, a public relations
campaign as well as a powerful, informative and result oriented
service promotion will ensure that weaknesses are overcome
as the public gets to know you and your services and chooses
you and your services when necessary.
Until
you have gained a prominent public image, you are operating
from a fragile business perspective. A focused public relations
campaign will strengthen any reputation by first speaking
directly to the community and their needs with clear and positive
advertising messages. Reaching the community can first be
achieved through sponsoring local small healing or earth centered
businesses, volunteering with local or national charities,
joining community groups or writing articles that provide
information about your community values. All of these intercommunity
activities are a form of advertising. As the community grows
to know you and your interests, your relationship with your
specific customer will grow. As you network with new metaphysical
leaders and associates, you will begin to share your opinions
and values and your community relations campaign will take
on a life of itself. Your opinions and attitudes will be repeated
by others as they talk about you. And, talk is the best way
to develop a successful reputation within your community.
After you have begun to develop substantial amount of public
recognition, it is time to find a means of publicizing your
services. Most advertising techniques are focused upon developing
relationships between you and your best customer. A healer
or energy worker that is not recognized in the community essentially
does not exist in the community and can not grow in practice
or experience. For healthy growth, the public needs to hear
your name and the service you provide at least 15 times. Any
technique that puts your good name and service in the minds
of your customer is a good one. As your name is repeatedly
made available, your position in the community will begin
to produce.
One cost effective means of spreading your name and business
service is via magazine advertisements or internet advertisements.
These types of promoting do not need to be costly. When the
community hears your advertisement along with your name and
contact information, customers will begin to recognize you
as a leader in your industry. Your name will become branded
and synonymous with your service. Customer growth will essentially
far exceed the cost of any expense in advertising.
It
is essential for you to set a goal of branding. Instant recognition
of the name of your business or your own name aligned with
the service you provide is known as branding. And, branding
occurs only when the public hears your name on a consistent
basis. Good branding happens when your name and service is
associated with a powerful and positive entity. The public
expects to hear of your company in a public manner. Psychologically,
the customer feels an alliance with you when hearing your
name through a communal means such as radio or host recommendations.
Because your customer already knows and trusts you through
your community relations campaign, now hearing of you from
a reputable and professional means of advertising, like newspaper,
magazine or radio bonds your relationship and ensures that
you and your services will be first on your customers mind
when your services are needed.
It is proven that successful public relations will come from
consistent advertising. Your tailored messages of information
and public service will reach those specific members of the
community that you need to know assuring that you stay in
their minds. Your professional image and service, once formed,
will continue to grow as you persist in your promotional efforts.
The small financial commitment necessary to keep your name
on the tongues, ears and eyes of your customer is well worth
the productive benefits that will come to you as your entrepreneurial
career grows.
